The SEO industry has been watching an unconfirmed Google ranking update that seems to target more of the link quality aspects of the overall algorithm.

A large amount of the chatter regarding this update comes from Black Hat communities which would suggest that it is focussing on filtering out spammy results due to poor quality links.

Google generally don’t confirm their updates nowadays, and in general, it is a constant update; however, many SEO websites have talked about updates in early February which also focussed on spam, and an update early to mid-February focussing on content.

Many automated tracking tools currently show a lot of volatility in the rankings which is a good indicator of updates. We can confirm this is the case with the rankings we check.
